USSD *99# With Paytm by Vodafone-Idea, learn in easy steps to transfer the fund through UPI via your mobile – Telecom provider Vodafone Idea has partnered with Paytm to recharge without visiting physical store, or using mobile data. The new services will be supported by NPCI’s payment service *99#, which works on the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channel. The mandatory requirement for using this services is an UPI ID, which has to be registered with NPCI’s BHIM UPI. Paytm has also offered a way for UPI ID customers to set a UPI PIN, and then recharge their accounts.

Subscribers of Vodafone Idea will be able to recharge their account on the phone. The only requirement of using this services is mobile network. There is no need of Internet connection for recharging using USSD. For users whose UPI ID is already registered with BHIM UPI, they need to begin the process by dialing in the USSD code – 991*3#.

Steps Registered UPI ID- Using USSD *99# With Paytm by Vodafone-Idea

1. Start dialing the USSD code 991*3#
2. A screen will show up with linked bank account of the subscriber on the same mobile number, registered with UPI.
3. User needs to enter their unique Paytm UPI ID.
4. Vodafone Customers can enter (98**.vf@paytm), and Idea customers can enter (98**.id@paytm)
5. Enter the recharge amount required
6. Give the UPI Pin for completing the transaction
7. The recharge will be completed, and UPI reference ID will be generated for the user.

Steps UPI ID not registered – Using USSD *99# With Paytm by Vodafone-Idea

• Start dialing the USSD code 991*3#
• A screen will show up with linked bank account of the subscriber on the same mobile number, registered with UPI.
• The subscriber needs to then select the bank account they want to register with their UPI ID
• Once selected, the subscriber will be asked to set a UPI PIN
• After the UPI PIN is set, go back and type USSD code 9913#
• Vodafone Idea subscriber’s bank account number that is linked to the mobile number, through which the USSD code is punched in, is detected.
• User needs to then enter their unique Paytm UPI ID. Vodafone Customers can enter (98**.vf@paytm), and Idea customers can enter (98**.id@paytm)
• Enter the recharge amount required
• Give the UPI Pin for completing the transaction
• The recharge will be completed, and an UPI reference ID will be generated for the user
