What does it means the Fraudulent Transaction in Online Environment? Fraudulent Transaction means the transaction done by other than the account holder after compromising the details of Individuals wrongly.

It is said that there are millions of dollars transaction made through this fraudulent transaction every day. It means there are million who loose their hard earning money every day due to this fake transaction.

How does the Fraudulent transaction take place ?

This is the question which is asked by almost every customer who are availing the Internet Banking transaction irrespective of any Banks.

These transactions are made by the mistake of customers or sometime the mistake by Banks also. Customer mistakes are all due to lack of knowledge where as the Banks mistake is not to provide the complete details or security information about Internet Banking.

  2. Always check whether the URL address for the Login screen of your Internet Banking started with HTTPS or not. it’s not starting with HTTPS, never use your Internet Banking user Id or Password at such sites.
  3. Preferably use Internet Explorer for Login to Internet Banking.
  4. Sometime you will see that there are number of Email in Your Inbox asking details about the accounts with many reasons like winning lottery. Don’t think you are very lucky to get this million dollar bounty. Do not click on any links in any e-mail message to access the site. These sites are design to create malware at your system and it will steal all your information.
  5. None of the Banks asked for any details related to your personal information, password or one time SMS (high security) password any time through any mode like Phone, SMS etc. Even Bank official don’t ask for such information. Any such e-mail/SMS or phone call is an attempt to fraudulently withdraw money from your account through Internet Banking. Never respond to such email/SMS or phone call.
  6. If you have revealed your Password or any account related secret information to anyone, change your password immediately.
  7. Scan your computer regularly with Antivirus to ensure that the system is Malware/Virus/Trojan free. Enable your Windows Firewall.
  8. Change your Internet Banking password at periodical intervals.
  9. Always check the last log-in date and time in the post login page.
  10. It is advisable not to use the Internet banking accounts from cyber cafes or shared PCs.

Beside that the most important part is the self aptitude level. No doubt that Internet Banking is time saving, hassle free mode of doing Banking. But every good thing in this world has some demerit.
