How To e-Verify Returns Using Bank or Demat Account ? – Earlier the Income tax department had provided the ways to e-Verify the online returns using Aadhar Card or Internet Banking. In order to make the Income tax returns completely paperless the Central Board of Direct Taxes has added two more ways of e-verifying the returns filed electronically. They are Demat Account and any Bank Account details.

Income Tax Department has intimated that the pre-validation of any online returns submitted through their site can be done either with the help of Bank Account details or the Demat Account Details.

After the successful validation the tax payer would be given an option to  generate the EVC through bank accounts or Demat. After the validation the e verification code would be sent to their mobile number or email address registered with them.

Process for e-Verify Returns Using Bank or Demat Account

Follow the below mention instruction to e- Verify the Online Income Tax returns.

Before starting the process choose the e-verify option whether Demat account or Bank account.

In case of Demat Account : One should ready with Demat Account number, Registered Email Address, Mobile Number, PAN Card

In case of Bank Account : One should ready with Bank Account number,IFSC code of the account,  Registered Email Address, Mobile Number, PAN Card

Step 1: Login to  with the help of given credential, if not registered first

Step 2: Go To The Tab “Profile Setting”

Step 3: Under Profile Setting choose option “Update Bank Account details” or “Update Demat Account Details”

Step 4: Verification Tab apperas , Click on “Generate EVC using Bank Account details or “Generate EVC using Demat Account details”

Step 5: A 10 digit code will be sent to your registered email address or registered mobile number

Step 6: Copy and paste the Code which is EVC from your Mobile Number or Email ID for e-verify the return.

Step 7 : Within Three Days the Acknowledgement will be generated for validation.

One is needed to verify their returns within 120 days from the uploading or filling the Income Tax returns. Returns may be verified physically by sending the ITR-V to the Bangalore CPC.
