Indian Railways has partnered with travel portal Makemytrip.com to provide the live train status services through Whatsapp. This is an alternate service to railways toll free customer care services at 139. Passengers of Indian Railways can get updates related to

How To Avail the Services of Live Train Status on Whatsapp ?
- Store mobile number 7349389104 (via MakeMyTrip) on mobile phones.
- Send the required information through Whatsapp on same number
- Customer will get the response within 10 seconds of making the request.
Indian railway has advanced GPS tracking system through which they track the current location of train. MakeMyTrip had collaborated with them and was showing live status of train on WhatsApp. But, they didn’t make it long, i think after few months they have discontinued the service. From now onward, if you want to know where a particular is then simply check the current train running status online at IndianTrain.
